Marisol Santana, EdD (maiden name Tirelli) is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and educator.

​​She was an artist-in-residence at the Rubin Museum of Art gift shop in New York City from 2018-2024. This past year she exhibited her jewelry art at her Soleil Satnam Pop-up Gallery in Santa Monica. She has exhibited her painting, photography and jewelry with the TAG Gallery in Los Angeles for the past 4 years.

​​In 2010, she founded TESOL Drama and the TESOL International Film and Art Exhibit where she taught professional development workshops for teachers and exhibited art in New York City; Los Angeles; Paris, and France; Florence, Italy. 

Her play Fashion the Musical won Best Overall Musical for the West Village Musical Theatre Festival in 2011 in New York City.

She received her Doctorate in Art and Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and her Masters of Art in Educational Theatre from New York University. 

​Dr. Santana has been on the faculty at New Jersey City University and AMDA College of the Performing Arts and is currently an educator for the Culver City Unified School District. 

 

Awards/Grants Include: Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the California Arts Council Grant for Artists and Cultural Practitioners, The Haven Foundation Grant, Dramatist Guild Playwriting Grant, Max’s Kansas City Project Grant, Moser-Burton Art Education Fellowship, Columbia University, Hispanic Scholarship Award, Lily Endowment for the Arts, and Ahmanson Arts Foundation Scholarship.
